Makeup Removal after late night Holiday Party

Why is removing your makeup and cleansing your face so important?

Incorporating makeup removal into your skincare ritual is beneficial for your skin. Here are the specific advantages:

•    It removes cosmetics, impurities, and dirt from your skin's surface, preventing irritation and premature aging.

•    It lowers the risk of pimples, redness, blackheads, and other blemishes.

•    It encourages cellular renewal by removing dead skin.

•    It enhances skin microcirculation through massage.

•    It allows your skin to breathe.

Proper facial cleansing reveals fresh, toned, supple, and moisturized skin, even with minimal or no makeup. Clearly, there are many reasons to include this step in your beauty routine!

When to do it

Ideally, remove your makeup before bed and refresh your skin in the morning. In the morning, it clears perspiration and sebum accumulated overnight. In the evening, it removes cosmetics and the day's pollutants and impurities.

If you have dry skin, avoid exacerbating it. Use a gentle cleanser with a neutral pH and regularly apply moisturizer to keep your skin supple.

How to do it

Before starting, remember that regular soap and shower gel are too harsh for the face, damaging the skin’s protective barrier and causing dryness.

Step-by-step makeup removal

•    Thoroughly wash your hands.

•    Apply a small amount of makeup remover, micellar water, or facial cleanser to a cotton pad. Some products can be applied directly to wet skin without a pad.

•    Gently sweep the cotton pad over your face, or lather the product with your fingers if applied directly. Avoid harsh rubbing.

•    Repeat until the cotton pad is free of makeup and impurities.

•    Use a clean, soft facecloth rinsed in hot water to remove any remaining product from your face.

•    Finish by applying toner with a cotton pad to complete cleansing, restore skin's pH balance, and prepare for moisturizer.

Good to know!

The skin around the eyes is delicate, so use a product specifically designed for this area. It will remove makeup without pulling at your eye contour. For waterproof mascara, use an oil-based eye makeup remover.
